Lizeth Lopez-Avila is a strategic leader, community advocate, and human-services professional with more than 15 years of experience advocating for underserved populations and helping organizations develop programs and systems that improve access to services and opportunities.
Born and raised in Compton, California, to immigrant parents, Lizeth’s commitment to community began long before her career. Growing up in a diverse and hardworking community shaped her understanding of the barriers that individuals and families can face when trying to access resources, navigate systems, and create better lives for themselves and their families.
That grassroots foundation continues to influence her work today.
Throughout her career, Lizeth has worked at the intersection of community, government, human services, and organizational leadership, supporting individuals with disabilities, older adults, caregivers, families, and underserved communities. Her professional experience includes leadership within public-sector and community-based organizations, where she has overseen operations, developed programs, managed contracts and funding, strengthened service delivery, supported workforce development, and built partnerships designed to improve community outcomes.
Her leadership experience includes serving in management and executive-level roles, including Operations Manager and District Manager/Deputy Director. She has led organizational restructuring, developed standardized systems and workflows, established performance measures, supported compliance and quality improvement, and partnered with leadership teams and community stakeholders to create sustainable solutions.

She believes the best programs are not designed for communities — they are developed with communities.
That means listening to individuals and families, understanding their lived experiences, identifying barriers, engaging community partners, and creating programs that are practical, accessible, sustainable, and centered around the people they are intended to serve.
